Old Movie Teams

Weren’t they also in that other movie?

Edna May Oliver & Wheeler and Woolsey

The Wheeler and Woolsey team (Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey) generated 21 feature-length movies and at least three shorts in a span of eight years (1929-37). Three of their early films feature Edna May Oliver, who characteristically plays the no-nonsense, supercilious lady uncharacteristically flirting and trading barbs and quips, often of the double-entendre sort, with Mr. Woolsey.

Here is a list of the their three feature-length collaborations:

Half Shot at Sunrise (1930)
Cracked Nuts (1931)
Hold ‘Em Jail (1932)
